Song by song
Here are some notes to make us even lovelier
Click on each title for the page with the sheet music etc
Dream a Little Dream: be aware of the change in volume when unison goes to harmony - listen to each other
Blue Moon: keep the long notes interesting - slight crescendo through the "moo-o-o-on", with a little push at the end.
The Story of my Life : tenors, sing smoothly. Basses, enjoy your "ba-bom bom" moments. Watch out for the ending.
Let It Be Me: basses, trust yourselves to find the starting note. Following our hit with do-re-mi... Let It Be Mi.
Sugartime: nice and smooth on "put your arms around me" - then back to the bouncy style.
Close to You : double-check the notes at the end, where voices are sometimes together, sometimes echoing.
I Only Want to Be With You: gents, be ready for you "A-a-asked if you'd care to dance" - just memorise that phrase. Sops, trust yourselves with your descant, it's not hard, honest!
Everybody Loves Somebody Sometime: sounding good - all try to listen to each other more, to get blend and balance. This will come as it gets more familiar. Click here to get Bruce's harmony guides.
Always: keep the word "always" together: "al-waaaaaa-ys", with the pure "air" sound until the very last moment. No slowing down until the very end of the song, watch for the big pause after "Not for just a year".
